Your Family's Own Record Is The Better One
Everything published here was read from somebody else's book or somebody else's website. A family reciting its own is a better record than any directory, and it is the one we would rather carry.
Why Yours Matters
A Thin Entry Is An Invitation, Not A Conclusion
There are 700 records here and 149 of them carry a praise that is recorded and cannot be shown, because the wording belongs to somebody who published it.
A family's own recitation carries none of that. It is yours to give, and giving it is how a held praise becomes a page rather than a note explaining an absence.
The same is true of everything thinner than it should be: a name with no meaning recorded, a clan with no origin, a spelling only your family uses.
What Happens To It
Sending Is Not Publishing
Nothing you send appears on this site automatically. There is no path from this page to a published page, and that is on purpose.
-
A Person Reads It
Not a queue and not a script. Someone reads what you sent and what the corpus already holds for that name.
-
It Is Checked Against What Is Here
Where it agrees with an existing record, it strengthens it. Where it differs, both readings are kept. A regional form and a transcription slip look identical from outside a family, and neither of us gets to decide which yours is.
-
Your Family Is Named As The Source
If it is published, the page says it came from you, in the words you choose for that credit. It is not marked verified. Nothing on this site is, because native-speaker review has not been done for any of the twelve languages, and every page says so.
It may also not be published, and you would be told why. Material under somebody else's licence, or a reading we cannot hold alongside the rest without misdescribing one of them, is better refused than quietly dropped.
Send It
What To Include
However much you have. A single praise line is worth sending; so is a spelling nobody else uses.
