Recorded Praise Names
These are praise names, not a full recitation.
RadebeBhunganeMthimkhuluNdlebentlezombiniMashiy' amahle NdambeFafaRhudulu Two versions are recorded and neither has been chosen. Where community sources differ on a praise, both readings are kept. A regional form and a transcription slip are indistinguishable to anyone who is not a first-language reader.
The History Behind This Name
As written down by the people named at the end.
The amaHlubi, also called amaMpembhe, are a nation of eMbo descent whose dynastic line is traced by tradition to King Chibi in the fourteenth century. Radebe is recorded as the name of the Hlubi king Hadebe, who succeeded King Ncobo.
King Bhungane II kaNtsele ruled from about 1760 to 1800 and was known as a herbalist and rainmaker, a knowledge held to pass from father to son in the Hlubi kingship. His son Mthimkhulu II succeeded him in 1801; the name is read as great medicine man, and neighbouring kingdoms consulted him. Mthimkhulu was the father of Langalibalele.
Many Hlubi families reached the Eastern Cape as refugees of the Mfecane and were counted among the amaMfengu, keeping their own iziduko.
Recorded from: WIKIPEDIA (Bhungane II, Mthimkhulu II, Langalibalele, Radebe)

About This Record
What Was Written Down
The izithakazelo.blog directory records the Hlubi self-description SingamaNgelengele beside this clan. The nivile.co.za directory records the sequence as Ndambe, Fafa, Rhudulu. The praise names above are the Hlubi royal names Wikipedia records; a first-language reader should check them against a recited Radebe sequence before they are treated as one.
Families Tell This Differently
Families who carry this name tell parts of it differently. Each way it has been told is below.
The primary sequence here is drawn from the recorded Hlubi ROYAL LINE (Bhungane, Mthimkhulu) rather than from a praise corpus that recites it as Radebe izinqulo. That is a weaker kind of record and is marked as such rather than presented as a recitation. the nivile.co.za directory's directly-recorded form is kept beside it.

A family saying its own izinqulo knows them better than any directory does. If yours has more than what is on this page, it belongs here.
