About This Record
What Was Written Down
Recorded in the Venda Kingdom article (citing Loubser) as the people of the central Mutale valley whom the Mbedzi conquered; they once buried rulers at Tshilavhulu mountain and later on dry ground (zwiomo), the least prestigious of the three burial modes, and were regarded by others as having lost ritual potency while retaining some power as original inhabitants. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.

If Your Family Holds More Of This
A family saying its own zwirendo knows them better than any directory does. If yours has more than what is on this page, it belongs here.
