About This Record
What Was Written Down
Junod describes the Hlanganu group as the Nwamba clan in the Delagoa plain plus the Mabila and Hlanganu clans in the Lebombo hills, speaking a dialect close to Dzonga, with many people scattered through the lowveld of the Lydenburg district. He found no migration tradition among them. Wikipedia names Xihlanganu among the Xitsonga dialects already spoken in the Transvaal before the Gaza period. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.

If Your Family Holds More Of This
A family saying its own swiphato swa swivongo knows them better than any directory does. If yours has more than what is on this page, it belongs here.
