About This Record
What Was Written Down
Found by Sobhuza I in the Mdzimba mountains together with the Magagula and Mncina. The Gama are custodians of the royal burial ground at Dlangeni in the Mdzimba. John Gama, a Swazi raised in Natal, served as an unofficial adviser at Mbandzeni's court and was one of James Stuart's informants. The community blog's Vilakati praise also invokes Gama, suggesting a link not confirmed by scholarship read. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.
