What Was Written Down

Stayt names the VhaKwebo as one of the two chief sibs (with the Ndou) that made up the Vhatavhatsinde migration. Luonde calls them a Vhatavhatsindi sub-group settled at Luonde and Luvhola. Wikipedia's Venda Kingdom article says the Kwevho had connections to both Shona- and Sotho-speaking groups and replaced earlier groups in the central Soutpansberg; the Venda people article counts them among the Vhangona. Netshisaulu lists Mukwevho as a totem-derived surname without stating the totem. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.
