About This Record
What Was Written Down
Junod records a chief from the Lebombo hills called Lebombo who settled on the western side of the estuary before 1500 almost without fighting, whom Perestrello met in 1554, and whose descendants were kept as tinduna when the Mazwaya conquered the country. He heads Junod's Nondwane genealogy. Junod's Appendix V tells the case of Spoon Libombo, a Nondwane man, to illustrate the lobola law. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.

A family saying its own swiphato swa swivongo knows them better than any directory does. If yours has more than what is on this page, it belongs here.
