About This Record
What Was Written Down
Junod records that Mpfumo and Matjolo were sons of Nhlaruti, said to be the first invader from the Zululand/Swaziland side, and that their two clans became independent and even hostile to each other. His genealogy runs Nhlaruti, Mpfumu, Fayi, Maromana, Shilupane, Hasana (attacked Lourenco Marques in 1868, was banished, restored in 1875, died 1878), Hamule, Zihlahla, Nwamantibyane (banished to West Africa in 1896). He identifies Perestrello's Rumu of 1554 with this clan. Wikipedia names the Mpfumo of Nhlaruti among the Rhonga tribes. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.

If Your Family Holds More Of This
A family saying its own swiphato swa swivongo knows them better than any directory does. If yours has more than what is on this page, it belongs here.
